President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi Send Their Best Wishes on Janmashtami

Well, folks, it’s that time of the year again! Janmashtami is here, and it’s being celebrated with all the pomp and enthusiasm you can imagine. People all over the country have geared up to welcome Lord Krishna with open arms, and guess what? Even our President, Draupadi Murmu, and our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, have jumped on the Janmashtami bandwagon to extend their heartfelt wishes to the nation.

Janmashtami, also known as Krishna Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, is a pretty big deal in the Hindu calendar. It usually falls in August or September, on the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Bhadrapada. People observe fasts, sing devotional songs, and do all sorts of festive stuff to celebrate Lord Krishna’s birth. You know, the dude who’s like the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

President Draupadi Murmu, in her message to the nation, talked about how important Janmashtami is in our spiritual and cultural calendar. She’s really looking forward to this special day, hoping it brings peace, prosperity, and unity to our beloved country.

Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, also hopped on social media to share his warm wishes.

All across the nation, Janmashtami is being celebrated with a bang. People are flooding temples dedicated to Lord Krishna, where they’ve gone all out with decorations and cool statues of the man himself. There are special prayers, aarti ceremonies, and all sorts of rituals happening all day long. And guess what? The fasting ends at midnight, because that’s when Lord Krishna is said to have made his grand entrance into the world.

One of the fun things about Janmashtami is the ‘Dahi Handi’ tradition. Young guys form these crazy human pyramids to reach a pot of curd and try to break it, just like Krishna used to steal butter.

Families are also doing their thing by whipping up delicious sweets, like ‘mithai’ and ‘panjiri,’ which they offer to Lord Krishna before devouring them with friends and family. It’s a time for happiness, togetherness, and spreading some love and devotion.

Janmashtami is a reminder of the amazing mix of cultures and traditions we have in India. The greetings from President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are like a big virtual group hug, reminding us to embrace the values and teachings of Lord Krishna as we celebrate this special day. So, let’s keep the party going and enjoy the festivities because Janmashtami brings us all together in devotion and celebration. Cheers! 🎉
