Cricket’s The biggest icon, Sachin Tendulkar, celebrated his 48th birthday on Saturday. a person who won many hearts across the earth for his prolific batting and bowling skills. In his 24-year career, Tendulkar has set numerous records and reached milestones.

Sachin Tendulkar ‘god of cricket’ turned 47 on April 24 and thought of to be the best of all time. During a career that spanned 24 years, Tendulkar represented India in 200 Tests and 463 ODIs. While he amassed 15,921 runs within the longest format of the game with a superb average of 53.8, Tendulkar scored 18,426 runs in ODIs.

Tendulkar is that the only batsman who scores hundred international centuries — reaching the feat in 2012 with 100 against Bangladesh in an Asia game. he’s also the first batsman to achieve the 200-run mark in ODI cricket. He achieved the feat against South Africa in Gwalior on February 24, 2010.

Tendulkar played in six World Cups and produced some magical performances for India. He scored six centuries in World Cups, slamming two each within the 1996 and 2011 editions. They await the coveted global trophy finally led to the latter one, during which Tendulkar lifted the title before his home crowd at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

He played his final match for India in November 2013, when West Indies toured India for a Test series. His final match came at the Wankhede Stadium. Tendulkar announced his retirement from cricket back in 2013, two years after winning his first and only ICC World Cup. He was last seen in action during the Road Safety World Series, which his team won after defeating Tillakaratne Dilshan’s Sri Lanka Legends within the summit clash.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) also extended wishes to the “most prolific batsman of all time” Sachin Tendulkar on his 47th birthday.

ICC took to Twitter and wrote: “Happy birthday to Sachin Tendulkar, the foremost prolific batsman of all time! To celebrate, we’ll provide you with the prospect to vote for his top ODI innings during a bracket challenge! Stay tuned to hitch the celebrations.”

BCCI took to Twitter to post highlights of Tendulkar’s inning against England in 2008 when he struck 103* runs handy India a six-wicket victory.
